OSL again takes up the challenge of the CEO Tour organized by Agoria.
After the successful experience of the CEO Tour 2008, Agoria (http://www.agoria.be), the federation of technological industry, prolongs this year its sensitizing efforts of the young people. Data processing specialists come to address in flesh and bone to the young people of 6th secondary in the schools. A series of testimonys of data processing specialists is already visible on www.ictjob.tv. This countryside is held from October 19th to 23rd next. Benoit Hucq, executive director of OSL, will go on October 22nd to the College Saint-Were useful in Namur. Its objective is double: 1) To make become aware of the importance and the diversity of Communication and Information Technologies (TIC) 2) To eliminate certain prejudices such as: • “the TIC, it is for the “nerds”” • “One must remain sitted in front of a screen of computer during 12:00” or • “the TIC, it is a trick of men” Jobs with a futureThe message of the data processing specialists? The jobs in the TIC are enthralling, multiple and offer many future prospects. Data processing forms integral part of our life to all. It as well offers outlets in the sector TIC itself as in industry, the service sector and of the public services: in short, in all the Belgian economy.And rich person of contentsBut which are the trades which one can make in the sector TIC and which must one learn for that?It is the mission assigned with our data processing specialists “professors one day old”: to provide explanations to the pupils. Because the TIC are not limited to remain sitted all the day behind a screen of computer. The collaborators TIC seek added-value for their customers. They develop software and material to return more the companies innovating and effective applications and seek solutions. Just like an architect draws buildings, an architect TIC will draw a powerful computer infrastructure. The other collaborators TIC must work out these plans or help of the colleagues and customers on their work place. The number of jobs thus is very varied, which also arises from the number of possible functions: of collaborator helpdesk to architect TIC, developer of system to ICT Project Manager, for example. “To inform the young people Well so that they can make the good choice of studies in their giving an good idea of the possibilities and profiles of function, it is the objective of this countryside a future which you mouse,” explains Christian Vanhuffel d' Agoria
